In Jerusalem, there are approximately 10,000 children who commute daily to various educational frameworks. Back in 2019, I met Matanel Levi Ari, with a sparkle in his eyes and a dream of revolutionizing the travel experience for children in special education. These children spend around 90 minutes each day on transportation, and Matanel envisioned a transformative journey—a supportive and immersive travel experience. This vision included trained escorts in school buses, the creation of a variety of analog and digital activities, and a wide range of creative solutions that would make the commute a meaningful part of their day. I was thrilled and continue to be thrilled to be part of this initiative, which has grown into something truly remarkable with departments, coordinators, and services catering to various sectors that make up my special hometown, Jerusalem. The initiative is alive, vibrant, and expanding into impressive dimensions, embraced by the "Beita Machanechim" program of the Jerusalem Municipality. It assists children in commuting to approximately 206 educational institutions (and back home) every day of the year, providing a variety of personal, loving experiences. It is now on the verge of being adopted by the Ministry of Education, breaking the boundaries of the city.
